THE MISSION:
A Presidential Team based out of Carlsbad contacted us about their travel needs to attend a conference in Orlando as well as a group experience to see the 2024 total solar eclipse.
THE HURDLE:
There were no direct flights from Carlsbad to Orlando over the dates of their event. Chartering an executive jet would not suffice, as the group comprised 28 passengers. Lastly, the weather forecast for the eclipse was unclear, and a location for viewing totality was uncertain. Unprecedented travel for the eclipse made it very difficult to keep options open.
THE SOLUTION:
The Intrepid team contracted a 30 seat regional aircraft that could accomodate all passengers and their luggage in a single aircraft. Our team, along with several dispatchers monitored forecasts daily to assess solutions as the trip was ongoing to ensure a smooth experience.
THE CLIENT REVIEW:
The weather forecast became increasingly doubtful as the trip date approached. The original plan of seeing the Eclipse of Austin, TX, could not be solely relied on. However, given how proactive Intrepid was, we were able to focus on our events and let them execute as needed. On the day of the Eclipse, plan C (diversion to Maine) was put into action and the group was able to experience an unobstructed view of the Eclipse. We could not have been more happy with our experience and look forward to planning another event.
